Tourism on track for long-term growth and success

Despite the challenges created by the global economic crisis, Trinidad and Tobago's tourism industry remains on track for long-term growth and success. This is the unanimous opinion not only of the heavyweights in the local sector but also of the global experts.Although the statistics for the first half of 2009 show a drop in tourist arrivals, particularly for Tobago, the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) has projected long-term growth for the sector.

“The T&T market will rebound and when it rebounds it will rebound fast," said WTTC President Jean Claude Baumgarten as he delivered the results of a Tourism Satellite Account (TSA) produced by the WTTC for the country.
