Marketing T&T as a dynamic duo
DESTINATION MARKETING and Product Development are the two key areas for improvement as Trinidad and Tobago seeks to enhance its international profile as an appealing tourist destination and increase visitor arrivals to its shores.
The stakeholders in the tourism and hospitality industry have upped the ante in both areas, especially since the depressed global economy has increased competition among tourist destinations for a bite of the now smaller tourist pie.
The key goal of destination marketing is to create destination demand, which is critical since there is still a general lack of awareness of Trinidad and Tobago. According to statistics, only two per cent of the tourism arrivals in the region come to T&T.
