Manufacturing
Teamwork and decisive action
will help us weather the storm
New President of the Trinidad and Tobago Manufacturers' Association (TTMA) Greg Laughlin has focused on implementation, greater cooperation between the Government, business and labour, and motivating employees as some of the critical issues that need to be addressed for the economy to weather the current economic storm.
Speaking in May 2009 at the Association's AGM, where he was voted in as President, Laughlin said: "We, the manufacturers, must be innovative in how we establish a sense of pride in each worker for their job and the contribution they make to the success of the organisation. A strong connection between owner, employee and company is a must if we are to ensure company success and optimum employee productivity." Strategies for optimum productivity should never be saved for upper level management alone, he said.
