Energy and Energy Related Industries
Energy makes progress at a measured pace
"There is an economic lull now, but the test of our mettle is not to wait in stagnation, pessimism and complaint; but to adjust, be creative, keep moving, albeit at a slower pace; and most of all to prepare with vision and discernment, for the economic sunshine."
- Patrick Manning, Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago (May 2009)
That lull could be the impetus for the revitalisation and redirection urgently needed in the energy sector. Of paramount importance is the long-promised review of the fiscal incentives regime for the energy sector which, in January 2009, the Ministry of Energy assured was "coming soon" - but we are taking the time to make sure we get it right.
