Seven free-to-air television stations – Gayelle The Channel, NCC-TV, CCN TV6, C, WIN TV, ACTS25 and CNC3 – have changed how these media houses compete for advertising revenue.
Errol Fabien, executive director, Gayelle The Channel, understands the challenge of a growing market. “It changes the paradigm in terms of how advertising could be collected.” The perception that fewer people are watching television makes it more challenging for television stations to attract revenue.
“There are more delivery mechanisms for video content. Video is being pushed to cellphones. Bite-size video like YouTube seems to be where the industry wants to go,” he said.
