Shipping Association of Trinidad and Tobago (SATT)
From its inception in 1938 to the present, the Shipping Association of Trinidad and Tobago (SATT) has evolved from registered trade union to lobbying body, primarily supporting its members by negotiating with the Ports and shipping and maritime authorities, as well as related Government Ministries. Apart from its core functions of advocacy and negotiation, the SATT also provides events management - training, lectures and seminars - to assist members in developing shipping expertise.
The SATT now comprises members spanning the entire maritime industry, including but not limited to: Shipping Agents, Port and Terminals, NVOCCs, Cargo Consolidators, Freight Forwarders, Shipping Consultants and Surveyors.
The SATT has representation on several maritime related bodies, including the Board of the Port Authority of Trinidad and Tobago, the Pilotage Authority, the Advisory Committee to UTT, the Maritime Industry Development Committee, National Ports Council, Customs Brokers Board, as well as the Executive Council of the Caribbean Shipping Association (CSA).
