For more than 100 years, the world has enjoyed the benefits of Trinidad Lake Asphalt (TLA) – a superior natural modifier of refinery bitumen.
TLA is the flagship product of Lake Asphalt of Trinidad and Tobago (1978) Limited the Company charged with the commercial development of the Pitch Lake situated in La Brea. TLA is used in a number of applications worldwide including the paving of some of the largest roadways, highways, bridge-decks, racetracks and airport runways across the globe.
Our goal is to provide the world with innovative, user-friendly and cost effective products. As a result, the Company is continuously involved in cutting-edge research and development and our Laboratory is in the process of becoming ISO certified. The Company also holds over 20 patents including the patent for pelletized TLA.
Lake Asphalt of Trinidad and Tobago (1978) Limited is a state enterprise falling under the purview of the Ministry of Energy and Energy Industries.
