In early 2012 we entered Costa Rica, where we established First Citizens Costa Rica. This Company will provide our Latin American clients with easier access to our services. Likewise, the acquisition of Butterfield Bank (Barbados) Limited will significantly increase and strengthen our presence in Barbados.

First Citizens Bank -- voted the safest bank in the Caribbean by Global Finance in 2011 and 2012 -- is the flagship company of our Group, and is well known for its focus on sound corporate governance. As the highest-rated, indigenous bank in the English-speaking Caribbean, First Citizens Bank has earned numerous accolades, including "Best Bank in Trinidad & Tobago 2010" by World Finance. Indeed in 2009 First Citizens Bank became the only bank in Trinidad & Tobago to receive three international banking awards in the same year.

The Group continues to perform robustly, with steady increases in our capital base and asset quality, prudent risk management, and investment ratings of BBB+/A2 and Baa1/A1 by Standard and Poor's and Moody's, respectively. In early 2012 the Government of Trinidad & Tobago signalled its intention to begin the process of offering the shares of the Bank to the public. It is expected that this IPO will take place within the next 12 months.

Drawing on the Group's synergies, we are positioned to offer customers the best financial solutions. Through First Citizens Investment Services (FCIS) -- the largest, full-service, securities company in the Caribbean -- we provide a network of linkages and on-the-ground expertise to facilitate large-scale, corporate and capital market transactions locally, and regionally in St. Lucia, St. Vincent and Barbados.
Corporate clients can also access a full range of facilities through our Corporate Banking Unit, which has been involved in several landmark projects. In 2011, First Citizens Bank floated a US$175 million bond on the International Market which was significantly oversubscribed. As a Group, we are a part of the International Finance Corporation's B-Loan Programme. These are notable achievements, especially given the global economic environment and challenges being encountered in the fixed income market.

Our Asset Management Company (FCAM) recently commemorated a special milestone of $10 billion of funds under management.

Our retail customers also enjoy service excellence and innovation, with the convenience of online and mobile banking. We were the first Bank to introduce both of these alternative service delivery channels to the Trinidad & Tobago market.

Putting people first is our philosophy. As a responsible corporate citizen, the Group added Women's Issues to its suite of Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives which already focussed on the environment, culture and community, youth development and education and sports. This cause has gathered impetus and has gained the support of NGOs and staff.
