The National Insurance Board of Trinidad and Tobago (NIBTT)

The NIBTT was established by an Act of Parliament on November 15, 1971. Five months later, on April 10, 1972, the first contribution was paid to the NIBTT. During this same week, the NIBTT began disbursing Retirement and Funeral Grants.

The NIBTT is governed by a tri-partite Board of Directors. Board members representing the business sector, the government and the labour movement are appointed by the Minister of Finance to oversee the operations of the organisation.

Through its head office located at Cipriani Boulevard in Port of Spain, Trinidad the NIBTT manages a customer service network consisting of 13 locations in Trinidad and 1 in Tobago.
