The National Training Agency (NTA) of Trinidad and Tobago
The National Training Agency (NTA) of Trinidad and Tobago is the umbrella agency for effecting reform in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in Trinidad and Tobago. Its role is to co-ordinate and regulate technical and vocational education and training, promoting and facilitating a coherent system of quality TVET.
The Agency was established in January 1999 under the aegis of the Ministry of Training and Distance Learning. Today it stands as a subsidiary body of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Tertiary Education.
The NTA works closely with Technical and Vocational Training Providers to ensure quality and coherence in all policies and practices domestically. Services by the Agency include the production of labour market studies, the review of occupational standards and quality assessment.
The National Training Agency will observe its 10th anniversary on January 4, 2008.
