Company History
New India Assurance Company Limited was established in 1919 and is the first fully Indian owned company in India. It is the largest non-life insurance company in India and one of the leading insurers in the Afro-Asian region.
New India Assurance is a market leader with continuous "A- (Excellent)" rating by A.M. Best. Since 1948 New India operated as a regional office in Trinidad and Tobago for the Caribbean and South American markets, until its local incorporation in 1976.
With prudent underwriting and high levels of service, The New India Assurance Company (Trinidad & Tobago) Limited has expanded with offices in the Commonwealth of Dominica, St. Lucia, St. Maarten and Anguilla. The company has an asset base of TT$212M as at December 2010.
