Airports Authority of Trinidad and Tobago (“the Authority”) is pleased to announce that the Piarco International Airport in Trinidad and ANR Robinson International Airport in Tobago, have achieved accreditation through the Airports Council International (ACI) Airport Health Accreditation (AHA) programme. We are the first nation in the region to achieve accreditation for two airports.
International recognition and accreditation have come to the airports in Trinidad and Tobago as a result of the activation of several health and safety measures at the Piarco and ANR Robinson International Airports to protect travellers, employees, stakeholders and airport users from the spread of COVID-19.
The ACI’s AHA programme provides airports with an official assessment of how aligned their health and safety protocols and procedures, introduced as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, are in accordance with International Civil Aviation Organization’s (ICAO) Council Aviation Restart Task Force (CART) recommendations.
The participation of the Piarco and ANR Robinson International Airports in this programme reinforces not only the commitment to protect the health of passengers and airport employees, but also demonstrates recognition for the integral role of aviation in the endurance of the local economy. Obtaining this accreditation signals to airlines, passengers and business partners that our facilities are prepared to safely and responsibly continue operations, in compliance with recommended local and international guidelines.
Airports Authority of Trinidad and Tobago continues to forge ahead through these challenging times, placing the safety of airport users as top priority and readying the airports to restore your confidence to travel once again. We thank you for your support and cooperation
