Calling all MSMEs! Would you like to ScaleUp? Through ScaleUp TT’s partnership with the Trinidad and Tobago Chamber of Industry and Commerce’s NOVA Committee we are inviting you to sign up once you meet the following criteria. ScaleUp & Unit Trust AD

The Unit Trust Corporation is hosting a second Cohort of the Scale Up programme. They are partnering with US-based Entrepreneurship Policy Advisors (EPA) and will provide the platform for growth to entrepreneurs who have a track record in their business. EPA has over a decade of experience in fostering entrepreneurship-driven growth in countries including Colombia, Guatemala, Brazil, Panama, the US, and Canada. With Scale Up Trinidad and Tobago, the MTI and UTC will strengthen and support the existing entrepreneurial infrastructure to promote growth across a broad base of local firms.

Given the successful launch of Scale UP Trinidad and Tobago (SUTT) last year, the Trinidad and Tobago Chamber of Industry and Commerce and the NOVA committee has partnered with ScaleUp to seed and mentor MSME members of the Chamber through this second installation of the programme.

They have taken learnings from Cohort 1 and are expanded their offerings for Cohort 2, so instead of three, 1.5 day sessions spread across 3 months, they are now having four 1.5 day sessions spread across 4 months. The main focus of these intensive workshops will continue to be on the pillars of Customers, Capacity and Cash. Orientation for Cohort 2 will be in October, with the first workshop being in November, followed by workshops in December, January and February. They are looking for companies that fit the following criteria:

  1. Sales – Minimum of $2 million to upward of $30 million
  2. Ambition – The leaders of these organizations must have serious ambition to grow and grow rapidly. This is probably the most important criteria for us
  3. Leadership – The organization must have some type of management structure in place, or have the making of a management structure. It can’t be a one (wo)man show. The Senior Management team is expected to participate as well
  4. Scaleability – The business must be one that can scale
  5. Ownership – The active owners must take part in all of the sessions
  6. Reflective – Leaders must be able to self reflect and be able to take a step back and be objective about the performance of the business and its leadership
