About Us: The Institute of Banking and Finance of Trinidad and Tobago (IBF) is a non-profit organization established in 1984 to assist the advancement of banking and finance professionals through its offerings of professional educational programmes and corporate training services. Our Council Members are representatives of participating commercial banks, the Central Bank of Trinidad and Tobago, the Trinidad and Tobago Unit Trust Corporation and the University of the West Indies.

Our Mission: To facilitate the continuous development of banking and finance professionals and to promote high standards of knowledge, skills and conduct to meet the high demands of a changing financial industry.

Our Vision: To be the preferred learning institution for financial services professionals.

Who We Serve: IBF serves professionals across a broad range of disciplines seeking career advancement through self-development. Some of our educational programmes include:

  1. Professional Certificate for Financial Advisors (Cert.FA), accredited by the Accreditation Council of Trinidad and Tobago.

  2. Diploma in Banking (DIB) which allows matriculation into UWI upon completion.

  3. Chartered Banker MBA, in collaboration with Bangor Business School – Executive Education. A specialised MBA in Banking and Finance & Chartered Banker Status

  4. Post Graduate Certificate in Banking Management and Technology (CertBMT) – For specific interest in Banking Management and Technology, also an alternative route to CBMBA

  5. Chartered Banker By Experience (CBBE) – Executive Education. Earn Chartered Banker Status

  6. Advanced Certification Programmes:

    • Certified International Risk Manager (CIRM)
    • Certified Credit Professional (CCP)
