GTCIC Forges Ahead in its’ 28th Year as a Chamber of Industry & Commerce

The Greater Tunapuna Chamber of Industry & Commerce (GTCIC) recently held its’ 27th Annual General Meeting. According to Melissa Senhouse, President, “’Looking out for Business’ in the Region continues to be our main goal, however, foremost on our minds at this time is the recovery of micro, small and medium businesses in the Greater Tunapuna region as the Covid-19 pandemic continues to wage on. Businesses must adapt to survive, and we will focus on assisting in this process. Other areas we are targeting for this year include:
- Continually offering educational seminars and networking opportunities to members;
- Continued partnership with stakeholders in the region for areas such as: crime and crime prevention; traffic/parking solutions, disaster mitigation, increasing business activity and other initiatives to bedeveloped during the year;
- Continued partnership with the Confederation of Chambers;
- Youth educational and empowerment programmes.
The GTCIC has a large catchment area that starts from Mt Lambert extending up to Arouca and part of Caroni.
The following Board Members were appointed to lead the Chamber for the new term:
