CIBC – Walk for the Cure

As we get ready for our annual Walk for the Cure event on October 26, 2024, our team made a cheque presentation to the Trinidad and Tobago Cancer Society. The donation, which tallied TT$100,000, represented proceeds from last year’s WFTC event which ensures the Cancer Society is able to continue its work to support those in need.

The funds generated from the WFTC event are used primarily to assist with the purchase and maintenance of equipment used in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer patients.
The proceeds are also used to provide assistance, care, and counselling to patients and their families as well as to raise awareness, and stress the importance of early detection, through educational campaigns across the region.

“We appreciate this donation as this goes a long way against fighting cancer as well as the promotion and education for the need to be frequently tested,” said Robert Dumas, chairman of the TT Cancer Society.

“As we prepare for this year’s event, we hope to increase our fundraising target. We want to support as many as possible as we know Trinidadians and Tobagonians are in need of this kind of help,” said Anthony Seeraj, Managing Director of our Trinidad Operating Company.

“If we can contribute to the Cancer Society’s education campaign or help provide screening at affordable costs, then we have helped someone overcome his/her fear and give the encouragement to fight for life.”

This year’s WFTC will start at the Queen’s Park Savannah, opposite TGIs.
