ICATT Confirms New Council for 2022-2023 TERM Rodriguez- Seijas to Lead Council

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Trinidad & Tobago (ICATT), held its 52nd Annual General Meeting (AGM) and first meeting of the Council for the period 2022-2023 virtually on March 24, 2022.
Elected as President is Dwayne Rodriquez- Seijas, Assurance Partner at PwC who previously served as Council Vice President for two terms. Subsequently, Dinesh Bhola has been elected to serve as Vice President. Mr. Bhola is the Principal of D.S. Bhola & Co and the Managing Director of DSB Financial Solutions Ltd and previously served as Chairman of the Members and Students Relations Committee for two terms.
Newly appointed President for the 2022-2023 term, Dwayne Rodriquez-Seijas stated that he was looking forward to implementing the Institute’s strategic plan over the next 12 -36 months. “This is another exciting chapter for ICATT, and I am committed with Council to focusing on delivering the key elements of the strategic plan which concentrate on value, quality, impact and sustainability for our members, stakeholders and the profession,” said Rodriguez-Seijas.
ICATT members voted electronically for four members to serve on its 12-member Council after vacancies arose. Re-elected were Denise Chinpire-O’Reilly (Managing Director Chinpire Contracting Services Limited), Adrienne Darcy (Partner at EY), Dinesh Bhola (Managing Director DSB Financial Solutions). The new member joining the Council of ICATT is Haseeb Mohammed, Consultant Educator and Subject Matter Expert on International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and International Standards on Accounting (ISA).
Addressing members at the AGM, outgoing President Mrs. Denise Chinpire-O’Reilly in her remarks revealed that “2021 proved that ICATT is fit for purpose and capable of adapting to navigate turbulent times.” She added that the achievements accomplished in the 2021-2022 term were aimed at enhancing governance and membership engagement and included the early adoption of a web-based membership platform and the completion of the revisions to the 2018 ICATT Rules and Regulations. Chinpire O’Reilly added “I am confident that the 2022-2023 Council will continue to lead ICATT to fulfill its mandate as the Regulator of the profession.”
