First Citizens Girls First Festival “Dream Dare Do” Set to Inspire and Empower Young Women

The First Citizens Girls First Festival is back! This year’s event aptly themed “Dream Dare Do,” is gearing up to bring together young women from all walks of life for a day of inspiration, empowerment, and personal growth. The festival scheduled for July 28th at Bishop Anstey East, Trincity and August 4th at the Magdalena Grand, Tobago, will feature a line-up of dynamic speakers, interactive workshops, and networking opportunities aimed at helping girls realize their dreams and turn them into reality. For the first time this year, First Citizens will also take this ground-breaking event to the shores of Barbados in August 2024.

This annual festival aims to provide a platform for girls to explore their potential, build confidence, and connect with like-minded peers and mentors. With the theme “Dream Dare Do,” attendees will be encouraged to dream big, take bold actions, and turn their aspirations into achievements.

Karen Darbasie, founder of Girls First and Group CEO of First Citizens, expressed enthusiasm, stating, “We are excited to host Girls First 2024 and equip young women with the tools, resources, and encouragement to pursue their dreams. Our objective is to inspire girls to dare greatly, shatter barriers, and seize control of their futures.”

Keynote speeches will be delivered by prominent local entrepreneurs like Kathryn Nurse, Solange Govia, Abeni Taylor, and Kimmi Potts. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in thought-provoking panel discussions, as well as workshops on topics such as personal safety, mental health awareness, digital media and financial literacy. Girls First 2024 aims to empower young women to believe in themselves, embrace their uniqueness, and fearlessly pursue their passions.
