FTC Executive Director selected for WTO Workshop

The Fair Trading Commission (FTC) is pleased to announce that its Executive Director, Mr. Bevan Narinesingh, has been selected through a competitive international process to participate in the World Trade Organization (WTO) Workshop on Competition Policy, Trade and Development, which will be held at the WTO Headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland.

Mr. Narinesingh was nominated by the Ministry of Trade, Investment and Tourism to represent Trinidad and Tobago at this prestigious workshop, which will bring together competition and trade officials from WTO Members and Observers to examine emerging issues at the intersection of competition policy, international trade and economic development.

The Commission is also pleased to announce that, in recognition of his extensive professional experience in both international trade and competition policy, Mr. Narinesingh has been invited by the WTO Secretariat to serve as a panelist during the Workshop’s closing session on “Towards Greater Policy Integration – Avenues for Cooperation among Trade and Competition Authorities and Policymakers.”

The Commission congratulates Mr. Narinesingh on his selection and wishes him every success as he represents Trinidad and Tobago at this important international event.
