Cashew Gardens, Carlsen Field 8th December, 2020: First Citizens Bank Limited joined the Trinidad and Tobago Housing Development Corporation (HDC) in opening the Cashew Gardens Play Park located at the Cashew Gardens HDC Settlement at Carlsen Field in its ongoing efforts to focus on the environment and to bring more opportunities for play to our nation’s children.

Cutting the ribbon to formally open the play park is Minister in the Ministry of Housing & Urban Development Adrian Leonce, HDC Divisional Manager Estate Management, Larry McDonald and First Citizens Head of Brand and Marketing, Larry Olton

Having formally opened the park, the key stakeholders share a “bounce”

Over the last two years First Citizens has partnered with local corporations like HDC and the Couva/Tabaquite/Talparo Regional Corporation to construct a series of play parks throughout the country. In 2019 three parks were opened at Awai Lands and Harpe Place both in Belmont, Port of Spain and the Adventure Housing Estate in Plymouth, Tobago. While earlier this year another park was opened in Gomez Trace Phase II, Moruga.

Recognizing that play is essential to the development of children and provides an ideal opportunity for parents to engage fully with their children, First Citizens embarked on this initiative in 2018 demonstrating its commitment to the development of the communities which it serves.

As a responsible corporate entity, First Citizens is a proud sponsor of this project and is pleased to have partnered with HDC in the delivery of this green space and play-park to the residents of Cashew Gardens, Carlsen Field.
