Sod Turning Ceremony for Sheraton Hotel and Conference Centre

On November 2nd 2022, the Board and Management of the Airports Authority of Trinidad and Tobago were pleased to witness a ground-breaking and landmark event – the Sod Turning Ceremony for the construction of the 154 room Four Points by Sheraton Hotel and Conference Centre on these Northern Lands at the Piarco International Airport. This occasion signaled a significant step in the right direction for the fulfilment of the Authority’s vision to develop the Caribbean’s first Airport City around the Piarco Aerodrome.

An Airport City or Aerotropolis involves the commercial development of estates surrounding an airport, and gives opportunities to businesses, for which close proximity to an airport, is a logistic advantage.

The Authority thanks the Stages Group, Prestige Hotels Limited, Urbahn Architects and other stakeholder entities for their investment into the realization of the vision for the development of the Piarco Estates.
