TATT Hosts Empowering Men with Digital Skills Workshop: “Level Up Your Voice – The Ultimate Podcasting Workshop”

Saturday 6th September 2025 | 9 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

The Telecommunications Authority of Trinidad and Tobago (TATT) will host its annual Empowering Men with Digital Skills Workshop on Saturday, 6th September 2025, under the theme “Level Up Your Voice: The Ultimate Podcasting Workshop”.

This hybrid event will begin with an Opening Ceremony at 9:00 a.m., during which Senator the Honourable Dominic Smith, Minister of Public Administration and Artificial Intelligence (MPAAI), will deliver the Featured Address. Attendees can participate virtually or join from the nearest ICT Access Centre nationwide.

This workshop is part of TATT’s broader mission to bridge the digital divide and promote inclusive participation in the digital economy, while empowering young men to explore opportunities within the broadcasting, entertainment, and technology sectors.

This initiative is supported by several key stakeholders, including CANTO, Huawei, Tobago Information Technology Limited (TITL), the Ministry of Public Administration and Artificial Intelligence, and Restore A Sense of I Can (RSC), which plays a vital role in facilitating the workshop.

Mr. Kurleigh Prescod, CEO of TATT, shared his vision for the event:

Podcasting is a dynamic medium for storytelling, branding, and entrepreneurship. Through this workshop, we aim to provide young men with the confidence, technical expertise, and industry insights to amplify their voices, tell their stories and unlock new opportunities.”

Participants will benefit from a suite of exclusive resources, including a digital interactive workbook with audio features and access to Kwame, an AI-powered avatar who will guide them through the learning experience. Upon completion, attendees will receive a Certificate of Participation.

The workshop will be led by Keron Rose, Digital Strategist and podcast host of Digipreneur FM, which has been lauded as the #1 Podcast in the Caribbean for educating entrepreneurs on navigating the digital age. Keron will cover all aspects of podcast creation from concept development and vocal techniques to essential equipment, marketing strategies, and personal brand building. Joining him is Certified Sampson, dynamic entertainer and entrepreneur with a following of over 3 million people, who will share insights on crafting locally relevant content for global audiences. Mr. Nicholas Gayahpersad, Technical Examiner at the Intellectual Property Office, Ministry of Legal Affairs, will present on protecting creative work.

The event will also mark the launch of “The Voice Rises Podcast Competition,” inviting participants to submit a 3–5-minute podcast episode by 20th September 2025. This competition provides a platform for participants to showcase their newly acquired skills and gain valuable exposure. We are pleased to welcome Juma Bannister, Executive Creative Director at Relate Studios and host of the It’s Good to Relate Podcast, as one of the judges for the competition. Juma brings deep expertise in storytelling, branding, and creative direction, ensuring that submissions are assessed not only for technical quality but also for originality, emotional resonance, and audience engagement.
