TATT Signs MOA to Provide ICT Training for At-Risk Youth

The Telecommunications Authority of Trinidad and Tobago (TATT) is collaborating with the College of Science, Technology and Applied Arts of Trinidad and Tobago (COSTAATT) to provide ICT training to at-risk youth during this July/August vacation period. This collaboration was formalised in the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) among TATT, COSTAATT, the St. Dominic’s Children’s Home, Rainbow Rescue and Haven of Hope.
Through this agreement, 29 residents of the participating homes are receiving ICT training at COSTAATT North and South campuses, designed to strengthen their digital skills and knowledge. The initiative and custom-designed ICT programme will provide participants with practical exposure to ICT tools, software they currently use at school and concepts, while supporting their personal development, future educational and employment opportunities.
The partnership reflects TATT’s continued efforts to use ICTs as a tool for empowerment, particularly among young people, who may face barriers to accessing digital education and opportunities. Through initiatives such as this, TATT continues to support the development of digital skills and promote greater access to technology, helping to build a more digitally ready and inclusive Trinidad and Tobago.
The agreement was formally signed at TATT’s office by Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Kurleigh Prescod, and representatives of the participating organisations. Representing COSTAATT was Dr. Naseem Koylass, President (Ag.); Ms. Curlene George, Programme Coordinator, represented Rainbow Rescue; Ms. Keithisha Langaigne, Lead Residential Caseworker, represented St. Dominic’s Children’s Home; and Mr. Jonathan Wilkes, Assistant Manager, represented Haven of Hope.
