They are getting ready to launch!
A preview of Writing For Our Lives, A Caribbean Climate Justice Anthology, co-edited by Diana McCaulay and Shivanee Ramlochan
The Cropper Foundation, with funding support from Open Society Foundations, will launch the preview of the forthcoming Caribbean Climate Justice anthology, Writing For Our Lives at COP29 in Baku, Azerbaijan.
Date: Monday, 18 November
Location: CARICOM Pavilion
Time: 1-2 PM (GMT+4)
Published by Peekash Press, the preview will present a thoughtfully curated sample e-book comprising six pieces from various Caribbean writers across fiction, poetry, and creative non-fiction, along with a stirring introduction by UNFCCC Executive Secretary Simon Stiell.
This electronic sample will feature pieces from the following writers:
- Anika M. Christopher, British Virgin Islands
- Brendon Alekseii – Social Justice Storyteller, Trinidad & Tobago
- Dreylan Johnson, Guyana
- Kevin Jared Hosein, Trinidad & Tobago
- sharmataylor, Jamaica
- Sonia Farmer, The Bahamas

A huge thanks to their stellar editorial team, Diana McCaulay and Shivanee Ramlochan, for staying the course, particularly after the sudden passing of the anthology’s lead editor, Funso Aiyejina, on July 1.
The complete (print and electronic) anthology is set for publication in Q1, 2025 and will be dedicated to Funso.
