Unicomer Group and Lensyl Products Celebrate 10 Years of Partnership Advancing Local Manufacturing Across the Caribbean

Ten years ago, a partnership between Unicomer Group and Trinidad and Tobago manufacturer Lensyl Products Limited set out to bring affordable, locally made sleep products to more consumers. Today, that collaboration has grown into a regional success story, helping expand Caribbean exports, support Trinidad and Tobago’s local manufacturing sector and demonstrate that Caribbean-made products can compete successfully with established international brands.
Since partnering in 2016, Unicomer Group, parent company of Courts, and Lensyl Products Limited have worked together to bring high-quality, locally manufactured sleep products to tens of thousands of homes. What began as a localized distribution agreement has evolved into an integrated supply and innovation partnership, introducing advanced sleep technologies customized specifically for the Caribbean markets and consumer preferences.

Shiva Mungal, Managing Director of Unicomer (Trinidad) Ltd., shared his thoughts on the success of the partnership. “At Unicomer Group, we are committed to offering products that deliver quality, comfort and value to our customers. Our partnership with Lensyl has enabled us to do that while supporting a talented local manufacturer and creating opportunities for Trinidad and Tobago-made products to reach consumers across the Caribbean. Over the past decade, we have seen firsthand how local innovation and manufacturing excellence can compete successfully on a regional stage, strengthening the local economy and building confidence in Caribbean-made brands.”
The partnership has also helped showcase Trinidad and Tobago as a competitive manufacturing hub within the Caribbean, proving that locally designed and produced goods can succeed in regional markets while meeting high standards of quality and customer satisfaction.
For Justin Lall, Managing Director of Lensyl Products Limited, the anniversary represents both a business milestone and a validation of local manufacturing capability. “This 10-year anniversary represents a proud moment for our entire team. Partnering with Unicomer Group has allowed us to scale our production and showcase Trinidadian manufacturing excellence on a major retail stage. The success of our allnite brand in Unicomer Group’s Courts TT branches starting in April 2016 quickly led to the brand’s adoption throughout the company’s Caribbean network of Courts stores in Barbados, Belize, & Guyana & the OECS. This success culminated with our entry in 2017 into the Courts Jamaica network of stores -Unicomer Group’s largest market in the Caribbean – where we were thrilled to see it perform exceptionally well against the existing American brands which had long dominated that particular market. We remain committed to continuing our joint investment in innovation, quality, and customer comfort for the next decade and beyond.”

To mark the partnership’s tenth anniversary, Courts and Lensyl recently collaborated with the Diabetes Association of Trinidad and Tobago to host a nationwide health and wellness initiative while introducing the new allnite Essentials pillow range.

On September 19, more than 200 customers visiting participating Courts locations received complimentary blood pressure and blood glucose testing, as well as free vision screening from Courts Optical. The initiative highlighted the connection between quality sleep and overall health while promoting the importance of early detection and preventative healthcare.

The new AllNite Essentials pillows are designed to support improved comfort and wellbeing. They provide targeted support for the legs, back and neck and are engineered to assist individuals managing conditions such as poor circulation, edema, acid reflux and related health challenges associated with diabetes and other ailments.

Beyond celebrating a decade of commercial success, the milestone reflects Unicomer Group’s longstanding commitment to investing in Trinidad and Tobago’s economic development through partnerships that create jobs, strengthen local manufacturing and open new opportunities for regional exports. As Unicomer Group continues to grow across the Caribbean, the company remains focused on providing local manufacturers with access to wider markets, helping Trinidad and Tobago businesses scale their operations while ensuring that products proudly made at home can succeed across the region.
